Religious School Registration Continues
Religious school registration forms for the 2010-2011 school year were mailed last May to families with currently enrolled students. If you have not yet registered your child for religious school, NOW is the time to do so! We are ordering books and supplies for next year and want to be staffed and stocked properly to begin the school year. If you are new to the religious school, registering a child for the first time, or did not receive your registration forms (or have misplaced them), please call Amanda Barnes in the Lifelong Learning Office at (414) 228-7545 and we will be happy to send the forms to you.

Plan Now for "Passport to Israel"
Plan Now for Passport to Israel It is now time to enroll your child(ren) in the popular Passport to Israel Program, or to pay your annual contribution if your child(ren) are already enrolled.
Passport to Israel is a savings program open to all children once they enter 3rd grade, designed to support a teen or young adult trip to Israel. It is funded in partnership by the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, CEEBJ and the family. Extra money may be added to the account at any time; in fact, a deposit into a child’s account makes a great birthday or bar/bat mitzvah gift.
There are two stipulations: Children must be in 3rd grade or older when they enroll, and the trip must be a peer group experience, not a family trip. Many programs are available from which to choose; Rabbi Marc Berkson and Amy Kazilsky will be happy to help you find the right program for your child.
This is a terrific plan with no strings attached. Those children who do not use the money for a trip by the time they are 25 years old can have their funds returned to their families, minus the contributions by the synagogue and the Federation. If you move to another city that sponsors this program, you can have the funds transferred.
Passport to Israel is truly a great way to save for a future trip for your child(ren). Even if you are not sure that they will take the trip, it is to your advantage to enroll as soon as your child(ren) reach eligible grade level.
The family contribution for 2010-2011 is due in the Education office by December 31, 2010. If you have any questions or want additional information, please call the education office at (414) 228-7545.
