Sanctuary and Community Hall

A new, beautiful and spacious sanctuary will seat 318 people for regular worship services, life cycle events and programs. The Sanctuary design by Phillip Katz will be enhanced by a movable bima, a state of the art sound system, and artwork by internationally known Judaic artist, Tobi Kahn. The new Sanctuary and Community Hall will be able to accommodate a total capacity of 840 people including a mezzanine level over the rear of the Sanctuary which has a seating capacity of 140 and an expansion area at the rear of the Sanctuary with 130 seats. As a single room the new Community Hall can seat as many as 250 people auditorium style. The design of the Community Hall also includes enclosed, built-in bookcases to house the Congregation's library collection, making it accessible to all.

The Community Hall will enable the Congregation to provide high quality catered events and receptions. With the expansion space, over 250 people can be accommodated at tables with a dance floor. This will be an excellent venue for life cycle, congregational and community events. The Community Hall and expansion space can also be utilized for multiple educational, religious school and other activities, when not in use for major events.

Kitchen

An all new, fully functioning catering kitchen will support table or buffet service for a full capacity crowd in the Community Hall. The kitchen will also allow for on-site cooking for moderate sized social events, school events and other programs.

Other multi-use areas
The new building provides a variety of pre-function and small function spaces, including a lounge located in the former Fireplace Room, the expansion space between the Sanctuary and Community Hall, the cardo/corridor outside of the Sanctuary and Community Hall, and the entry coming into the building from the covered driveway. These spaces will support gatherings for group activities of varying sizes.

Parking

The parking lot, adjacent to the south exposure of the building, will have 68 spaces plus 7 additional spaces for the disabled. The new parking lot to the west will have an additional 147 regular spaces. We will continue to handle overflow parking by cooperative partnership with our neighbor to the west, Hill Point Church, and with shuttle service from other locations.

Thinking Green

We are committed to being as environmentally conscious as possible. The facility will include a "green" HVAC ice storage system to more efficiently control and regulate interior temperature. There will also be operable windows, a "green roof" over the covered entrance to the building, and natural materials wherever price and function allow.

Religious School

The new building will provide 11 refurbished classrooms and office space for the religious school.

Other enhancements
The new building will include new or remodeled administrative offices, patios, gardens, memorial wall, gift shop, security, rest rooms, landscaping, and computer and telecommunication systems. New museum quality display cases will allow the Congregation's extensive collection of Judaica to be displayed.
