Musical Highlights

Thanks to all those who participated in the “Fiddler on the Roof” Purimspiel on Thursday, March 20. It was wonderful to see such a talented group of actors including Sasha Chepov, Alex Hart, Bob Jacobs, Darlene Junker, Brianna Key, Norman Malmon, Michelle Margolies, Michaela Marks, Hannah Mays, Linda Gale Sampson, Elliana Sinykin, and Zach Sinykin. Special thanks to Bob Jacobs for serving as our costume designer, and to the “Fiddler on the Roof Band made up of Joe Aaron, Ed Doemland, Scott Finch and Guy Fiorentini.

On Sunday, April 13, at 11:00 a.m., our Youth Choir will sing a special Purim- Passover program at the Sarah Chudnow campus, 10995 N. Market St. in Mequon. The Youth Choir will delight you with selections such as “Haman Calypso,” “Hey Mr. Pharaoh,” “Lotsa, Lotsa Matza,” and many more. Show your spirit and come hear these spectacular singers!

On Tuesday, April 15, at 1:30 p.m., I will present a Passover sing-a-long at Laurel Oaks Retirement Home, 1700 W. Bender Rd., with Rhonda Kwiecien accompanying on piano. Come and enjoy your favorite melodies including “Ma Nishtana,” “Dayenu” and “Adir Hu” and learn some new tunes such as the “Who Knows One” rap and “Lotsa, Lotsa Matza!”.

On Friday, April 25, our Adult Choir along with members of our Youth Choir will participate at the 7:30 p.m. Pesach and Shabbat worship service at the synagogue, and will sing a variety of Pesach songs during the service, including “Dayenu,” “Adir Hu” and “Lotsa, Lotsa Matza”. Come join us to get into the spirit of Passover.

Finally, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to join in the celebration of our son, Natan, becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, May 3, 10:30am at the synagogue, Kiddush luncheon to follow. Natan’s Mitzvah project is collecting sports equipment to help students at the Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School.
