Learning Commitment

At CEEBJ we are committed to Lifelong Jewish learning and aim to provide all students this foundation in childhood.  In order to become Bat/Bar Mitzvah at CEEBJ, we expect that students in 3rd through 10th grades will attend a meaningful Jewish educational program in order to achieve this goal.  Attendance at CEEBJ Religious School twice a week through 6th grade and once per week through 10th grade, or MJDS fulfills this requirement.  If you do not intend to enroll your child(ren) in either, or have any issue or concern about this policy please be in touch with Rabbi Schaller to discuss.

By typing my name, I confirm I have read, understand and agree to the above.
Media Release

From time to time your child’s photo may be taken in our classrooms or special events.  We use these photos in the synagogue newsletter (Ha-Kol), on our synagogue display boards, the CEEBJ website as well as private Facebook groups and other publicity materials.

Section D: Congregation Community

You may have noticed that at the top of the form we begin with family information.  This is intentional.  The work of raising and educating Jewish children cannot be done in the school alone, but is a project of the school, the family and the community. You are not just registering your child(ren) for school today, but in fact your entire family.   When you come in the building and spend time learning and volunteering with us, you make a powerful statement to your children that Jewish learning is a lifelong process and that we are all on the same team in creating these experiences for them.  Don’t underestimate the subtle power of this statement!

We have four days during the course of the year (see calendar for dates) on which parents are required to attend with students (opening day, two conference days and Mitzvah Day) as well as two days that each class invites parents to join in the classroom learning.  Please plan to join us on these days.

In addition to those opportunities to participate we are in need of regular volunteers to make our school work.  Would you consider supporting our school in an ongoing role or a limited engagement?

Section E: Payment Information

In Jewish tradition, it is the job not only of parents but of the community to provide education for children. The CEEBJ community is committed to this obligation.  As such, our religious school fee only covers a portion of the cost of our religious school.  Both fundraising efforts like the Purim Carnival and congregational dues heavily subsidize our children’s education.  We are best able to plan appropriately when we know early on how many students to expect in each grade.  As an incentive for you to register early, we offer a discount to families who register online or by mail postmarked on or before Tuesday July 31st.  Regular fees go into effect on August 1st.
