In this course, we will explore the sacred traditions, rituals, and beliefs in Judaism surrounding death, mourning, and memory. Grounded in Reform Jewish values and practice, participants will gain insight into the customs from end-of-life prayers and funeral preparation to shiva, yahrzeit, and Yizkor. The course will include traditional texts, modern interpretations, and personal reflection, equipping participants with knowledge, spiritual tools, and language for supporting others or navigating their own mourning journeys.
