CEEBJ and Tikkun Ha-IR are partnering to provide new Holiday Gifts for the Homeless. The Giving Hanukkah will have “candles” that identify gifts that are appropriate. Please drop off your unwrapped gifts to the bins at the synagogue by December 16. Gifts are distributed to 12 -14 agencies in the Milwaukee area. Many of our families are African American and we ask that you provide books, dolls, gifts that celebrate people of color. Also, the families are temporary residents so gifts need to be easily portable.
Ideas for gifts include: pajamas, hoodie sweatshirts, multicultural books for all ages, puzzles in a bag, art supplies in a bag, soft balls for indoor play, small stuffed animals, electronics for teens (headphones, small speakers), cuddle blankets, do it yourself kits with every¬thing included, pocket games, word search books, game books, fun key chains and jewelry, nail polish/manicure sets, hair products for African American hair, grooming supplies, slippers/flip flops.
