Why a Women’s Seder?

1. When we read the Exodus with open eyes Passover is among other things a celebration of women’s heroism.

2. As Passover celebrates our freedom from oppression, the women’s seder celebrates our own journey as Jewish females paying tribute to women past and present, raising feminist questions, reinterpreting familiar rituals and prayers, and articulating a feminist vision of redemptions yet to come.

3. Women’s seders help infuse other seders, including family and congregational seders, with new traditions and may add a focus on those who previously might not have had a voice.
