5782/2021-22 High Holy Days Letter to Congregation

August 24, 2021

Dear Congregant,
As we look forward to the High Holy Days, we are pleased to advise you of the variety of worship opportunities that will be available to each of our members.  All congregants will be able to attend or access High Holy Days services in the following ways:
·      Onsite and in the sanctuary with limited and socially-distanced seating for individuals with reservations who are fully vaccinated and who have provided proof of vaccination, as further detailed here.
·      Onsite and in a tent set up on the west parking lot for our families with young children (many of whom still cannot be vaccinated) and for those who prefer not to be indoors or who have not provided proof of vaccination.
·      Remotely and online via Zoom, Facebook or the CEEBJ website to allow for real time participation in our services in the comfort of your home.
The plan for services outlined above was developed with the careful study and creative planning of our clergy, executive staff, lay leaders and Board, taking into account the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the North Shore Health Department and our own CEEBJ Safe Return Task Force, which includes medical professionals.
In addition, we were guided in this difficult planning by our Jewish values—values that demand that we be concerned not only about our own health, but also about the health and well-being of those around us.  With this multi-access approach to service offerings during the Yamim Nora’im, it is our intention to provide our members with a choice of environments where they can worship safely and with confidence.
Please see the following links for additional information about our High Holy Days services and instructions for requesting reservations for seating in the sanctuary.  We will, of course, continue to monitor the COVID situation and review any updated information and guidelines.  We will advise you of any changes or adjustments to our planning that may become necessary.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to navigate the challenges of this pandemic environment.  As always, please do not hesitate to contact the synagogue office if you have any questions or concerns.  As we approach this sacred season, we all look forward to a New Year that will be healthy and safe and will allow our congregational community to once again come together as before.
