Rabbi Barolsky Installation Weekend

 Generation after generation of synagogues have marked the hiring of a new rabbi with an “Installation,” a sacred commemoration of the official transition of spiritual leadership. We are so pleased to officially welcome Rabbi Jessica K. Barolsky –who served CEEBJ in different roles for many years - now as our Senior Rabbi.  Join us for a weekend of celebration and joy!    


Friday, April 5
6:00 pm - Middle Eastern Shabbat Dinner

Kick off our Installation weekend with a casual, DELICIOUS Middle Eastern supper catered by our friends at Pita Palace. Kefta kabab, chicken kabab, falafel, veggie skewers, hummus, baba ghanoush, rice, Jerusalem salad, pita, and baklava!

7:00 pm - Shabbat Service, Rabbinic Installation and 
Celebration Oneg

A special shabbat service to formally welcome Rabbi Barolsky as the spiritual leader of our CEEBJ community, followed by a Celebration Oneg where we will raise a glass to our newly installed Rabbi!

9:00 am - Shabbat Study with the Rabbis
11:00 am - Potluck Lunch

Join us for a unique study with Rabbis Luxemburg (Rabbi Barolsky’s lifelong rabbi), Berkson, and Barolsky, ending with a community potluck lunch.

7:00 pm - Wine and Chocolate House Party
Rabbi Barolsky loves chocolate, and we do too!  We’ll gather together at the home of Sharon and Mike Grinker, co-hosted with Alyson and Aaron Lippman, to enjoy local delicious chocolates, and lovely wines from Italy, USA and Israel while we mark the end of Shabbat and welcome the new week with Havdalah.

9:30am Family Fun with Rabbi Barolsky
Pancake Breakfast, Mini Maccabiah Games, and More!

What a morning to end a wonderful weekend!   Enjoy a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Women of Emanu-El and Temple Brotherhood, and then let loose with a “just for fun” set of mini Maccabiah games for children of all ages.
