Shabbat Under the Stars / July and August Birthday Blessings

Friday, August 30, 2024 26 Av 5784

6:45 PM - 8:00 PMOutdoors and Online

Tonight is our Shabbat Under the Stars Service with July and August birthday blessings. An Oneg follows the service.

A BYO picnic dinner precedes the service at 5:45 pm.

We have been blessed to have Dan Dance with us all these years, and we will be honoring Dan at a special service on Friday, August 30, at 6:45 pm.  This is our “Shabbat Under the Stars” service, and we hope you will come to honor Dan at this special service and reminisce with him at the Oneg after the service.

We are fortunate that Bill Hindin has moved back to Milwaukee on a permanent basis, and starting in September, we are thrilled that Bill will continue on as our full-time accompanist for Shabbat and Festival services, and the many other musical activities at CEEBJ!

All are welcome to join us in-person for services! If you prefer to attend online, refer to Emanu-Email for the Zoom information, or watch us live on our websiteFacebook Live, or our YouTube channel. If you cannot access Emanu-Email or our Zoom information, please click here to contact us.

Many thanks to Dan Dance for his extraordinary dedication to our congregation!

We want to take this opportunity to thank Dan Dance for eight years of service to our congregation!  Dan has accompanied superbly week after week for our Shabbat, Festival and B’nai Mitzvah services, performed at our variety shows, transcribed countless songs to make the music more accessible, and collaborated on music videos during the pandemic. Dan has accompanied our Adult and Children’s choirs, orchestrated lively music for our CEEBJ Band, and composed a beautiful Priestly Blessing in honor of my 18th year at this congregation.  He played at several Salute to Song & Spirit concerts, as well as Channukah programs and Shabbat Sings around town!

Dan Dance is retiring after 50 years of teaching, and he and his wife, Debbie, are moving to Texas to start the next chapter of their lives.
